Timi is a 1987 graduate of the University of Vermont (BA in Biology), a 1997 graduate of the MGH Institute of Health Professions (Masters of Science in Nursing) and board certified Family Nurse Practitioner. She became a certified IBCLC lactation consultant in 2002. While working in the NICU at Women and Infants in Providence, she saw the benefits of premature infants receiving breastmilk. She next enjoyed 14 years in pediatric primary care, with a focus on breastfeeding families. This experience allows Timi to assist with newborn feeding difficulties, slow weight gain, strategies on returning to work and weaning. Currently she also spends time on the Maternity Floor and NICU at UMASS Memorial Hospital as a lactation consultant. She appreciates the emotional impact breastfeeding challenges can have on mother, baby and family and strives to provide caring, evidenced based support during this time.
Timi considers it a privilege to assist families on their breastfeeding journey. She listens to the goals of the mother, as well as newborn concerns, and works to develop a plan that meets the needs of the evolving family dynamic. Timi joined NEMF in winter of 2015 and will be caring for families in the greater Metro-West and Worcester area.
Timi lives on a small farm with her husband, two children and assorted animals. Most weekends are spent outdoors with horses and family.
